Compaq trying again in notebooks
Compaq today kicked off its latest attempt to win back the notebook PC crown from Toshiba.
The Armada 7770DMT is the firm's latest 233MHz Pentium MMX-based unit. Configured with 32Mb RAM, 3Gb hard drive, 12.1-inch TFT screen, 20-speed CD-ROM drive and 33.6Kbps modem, the unit costs £3,999. It also includes Compaq's Intelligent Manageability software.
Compaq has also cut prices across the entire Armada line, up to a maximum of 18 per cent.
