No more open source...

No more open source...

Following its decision to license its Linux business to a start-up last year, Corel is about to close its open source developers site. The move symbolises the company's final departure from open source. Dave McKeen, Corel's VP corporate affairs, told silicon.com: "There is no Linux strategy moving forward." However, he would not be drawn on whether the company will re-enter the open source market at a later stage. The site was originally set up to provide in-depth information about Corel's Open Source projects. It now tells visitors: "Please note: this site will no longer be available as of March 1st, 2002."
