in brief The South Australian Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation (DWLBC) yesterday advertised for a new chief technology officer.

The government department called for a CTO to dive into its technology architecture. The position is a new role, which the department said had been created to ensure technology aligned with business drivers.

"There is clear recognition from the executive of the department that technology is one of the tools required to achieve better natural resource outcomes, and to do this we need the right people in the right roles," the department said in a statement.

It also sought a SharePoint subject matter expert to take over the department's roll-out of the content management system. Applications for both jobs close 26 March 2010.
