Customs signs AU$4m deal, for the record
Australian Customs Service officials have signed a AU$4.1 million contract with LogicaCMG for electronic records management as part of a three-year contract.
LogicaCMG will implement Open Text Corporation's LiveLink ECM-eDocs software, which will support Customs' Records and Information Management System project.
The new software, to form Customs' Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS), will replace Registry, a 20-year-old legacy application written in Software AG's NATURAL programming language for the Adabas database. Registry is used to manage Customs' physical files. The new software will be installed in the second half of 2007, according to Customs.
Electronic document management would be implemented in a second project phase in 2008, Customs said.
The contract is a result of a request for tender issued in November 2005.
