Dell on Tuesday announced a new collaboration agreement with enterprise software giant SAP designed to streamline cloud, analytics and IoT deployments.

Specifically, Dell is rolling out Dell Automation and Cloud for SAP Software, a datacenter architecture that lets users deploy virtualized SAP applications on a VMware-based cloud platform.

The architecture allows for improved automation and simplified provisioning and management of virtualized SAP deployments, Dell explained, as well as better visibility into SAP software through VMware's vRealize Operations.

On the IoT front, Dell announced another architecture that leverages SAP's in-memory database HANA and Cloudera Hadoop. The primary goal with the new architecture, which is built using Dell's Edge Gateway technology, is to help businesses with the collection and analysis of sensor data.

For Dell, the new IoT architecture with SAP is part of its IoT Solutions Partner Program rolled out in April. In addition to SAP, the partner program also includes GE, Microsoft, OSIsoft, PTC, and Software AG.

Dell also plans to offer customers the newly packaged Edge editions of SAP HANA and SAP Predictive Analytics on its Dell server platform in North America. Dell said it plans to offer a fully integrated appliance, known as the the Dell Engineered System for SAP HANA, at some point in the third quarter of 2016.

The appliance includes SAP's predictive analytics libraries native to SAP HANA, SAP Predictive Analytics, and the Predictive Suite. Simply put, the appliance will help speed up data data analysis and turnaround time for new reports, according to Dell.
