Dragon Dictation App now available on iTunes

An application that will create text messages for you is now available. No, they can't read your mind, but the technology is getting closer. The Dragon Dictation application, produced by Nuance Communications, allows iPhone users to speak text messages and e-mails without having to type in a key.

According to developers, people can "'say anything' up to five times faster than typing." It is easier and quicker to speak rather than type, but I am curious about how often a dictation application might get something wrong, especially when it comes to speed and enunciation.

One might jump to the conclusion for the ineptly lazy, but I can think of instances where this might come in handy. Maybe you're trying to juggle many tasks at once, or its so cold outside that you don't want to take off your gloves to touch the screen. (Anyone who uses a touchscreen device during winter knows this feeling.)

This app is available in the iTunes application store for free...for now.
