Ektron announced Monday the addition of workflow control features to its CMS400.NET and CMS300 content management products for Web sites, intranets, extranets and portals.

Content process control, including task management, can bring a new level of accountability to a content environment where multiple workers are updating and managing content, Ektron said.

The new workflow features include task management, monitoring progress and managing all content-centric processes. Site managers can assign tasks, automate status, support messaging between users, and run reports. The product supports archiving and a complete history of tasks.

This version of Ektron's CMS products also allows creation and management of multiple-language versions of the same content. An organization can observe the work of its third-party translation service using the CMS tools. English, French and German are supported.

The CMS products run on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (recommended), Microsoft Windows 2000/XP Professional and Microsoft Windows NT Server, SP6.

The Ektron product line also includes the eWebEditPro and eWebEditPro+XML editors and WebImageFX, an image editor.

The CMS products with workflow and multiple-language features are available now. A standard license with 10 users is priced at $6,600, which includes the base price ($5,500) plus the first year of maintenance ($1,100). A standard license with unlimited users is priced at $26,640, including first-year maintenance fee of $4,440.
