French storage to connectivity firm electronique d2 plans to plunge into the infested connectivity waters again early next year with a host of releases including a new version of its big-hit shark fin-shaped parallel port-to-SCSI adapter.

Available from January, Shark 2 will offer faster transfer rates and easier to use software, according to Herve Petit, managing director. Also coming downstream will be USB-to-SCSI and USB-to-IDE adapters with external hard drive options, and SSA PCI adapter cards.

The firm this week released a Nakamichi eight-speed CD-ROM jukebox capable of handling four disks. The shoebox-sized device is Plug and Play recognised by Windows 95 and costs £449 + VAT.
