The Enterprise Irregulars is an invitation only group comprised of top-tier enterprise analysts, observers, industry veterans, and executives. The group consists of a loose affiliation of members who make decisions entirely on a consensus basis, without formal leadership or management.

Despite the highly informal organization structure, the Enterprise Irregulars maintains an active private discussion community and members meet periodically for briefings with vendors.

Recently, several Enterprise Irregulars caught up with Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite, for an open-ended discussion about cloud computing, the state of software, and other topics of mutual interest. The agenda was not set in advance, nor did NetSuite impose topic restrictions of any kind. In addition, no part of the discussion was off the record.

Talking with industry leaders, especially in a group setting, is an interesting proposition. CEOs often have a wealth of knowledge and experience, but they're sometimes reluctant to open up beyond the party line. In this case, the conversation was detailed, engaging, and thought provoking.

The attendees included Enterprise Irregulars Jeff Nolan, Zoli Erdos, and me. Also in attendance were Ben Kepes, all-around smart guy and great cloud expert, and Mei Li, NetSuite's Senior Vice President of Communications.

Zach was kind enough to let us record the entire session, which you can hear by clicking the player at the top of this post. The podcast is important because it contains a wealth of information, insight, and analysis from some well-informed folks.

It's my pleasure to share this recorded conversation and hope you find it interesting and useful. Listen to the recording to learn more about the cloud, NetSuite, ERP, enterprise software, IT failure, and even the Enterprise Irregulars itself. This podcast is seriously worth an hour of your time; the content is just great!
