SINGAPORE--Asia will be a crucial test bed for the success of next-generation wireless networks, according to an executive of a Taiwan-based network hardware firm.

Philip Teo, marketing manager for Accton Technology, believes that regulatory obstacles in Europe will cause manufacturers to lean heavily on their U.S. and Asian markets.

Asia's lower adoption rate for wireless Local Area Network (LAN) will also give customers in the region a more compelling reason to adopt wireless LAN, he added. --John Lui, Special to ZDNet
