Created by Hemel Hempstead, Herts.-based Xara Ltd.. And published by Corel, the program has built an enviable reputation for raw speed. The new iteration adds support for colour separations and a new vector format aimed squarely at Web coders, together with Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer plug-ins. In a press release, Xara managing director Charles Moir said resulting files will "have significant advantages over GIF and JPEG files [including] better accuracy, scaleability and most importantly, file size".

Also new in the release are support for OLE 2, Corel's CMX file format, spot colours and pantone references and more fill types and graduated transparency types.

Xara can be contacted by telephone on 01442-350000.
