...Belfast firm born out of partnership...

A new content management company was launched today with the backing of Fujitsu and the promise it will put an end to problems finding corporate information in a hurry. Called Meridio, the Belfast-based firm is born out of Irish software company Kainos and has launched with £11.6m of investment from Kainos and Fujitsu. New CEO Frnak Graham said "This company will be focused around a product we've been selling with Kainos for two years already. We have a proven technology and proven customers across Europe. The new company enables us to give more focus." Meridio's software is designed to sit on an intranet or extranet, a feature it claims allows users to intelligently store, manage and retrieve unstructured information. Meridio's Graham says the technology beats competing products from Documentum and FileNet because it is designed specifically for the intranet infrastructure. Its strategy will be focused around gaining support from large resellers and consultancies such as PwC and Cap Gemini to sell the product. Meridio already employs over 50 people at offices in Belfast, London and Paris.
