Gen-i made rugby world cup IT supplier
Rugby NZ 2011 announced yesterday that New Zealand-based IT services company Gen-i has won a deal to provide IT services needed for the country's hosting of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Telecom NZ subsidiary Gen-i will provide data, voice and mobile network services as well as hardware, software, project management, enterprise architecture security and testing services. It will also supply on the ground support personnel throughout the major rugby event.
"Gen-i has demonstrated both the capability and commitment to provide a broad and complex range of services to the tournament," Rugby NZ 2011 chief operating officer Therese Walsh said in a statement.
The appointment had been made after an international request for tenders. Walsh was pleased that a New Zealand-based company was able to secure the contract.
Gen-i Australasia CEO Chris Quin said he was excited to be a part of such a large scale tournament. "Gen-i is well placed as a New Zealand company with the scale, technology and infrastructure to help contribute to the overall success of the event," he said in a statement.
Rugby NZ 2011 declined to say how much the deal was worth.
