Google adds Office 365, Facebook at Work to its Google for Work identity service

Google's identity service added connections to Slack, Box, Coupa and a bevy of other apps.

Google Apps for Work has added new connections to its identity service integration with Microsoft Office 365, Facebook at Work, Slack and Box as well as others.

The company said last year that it would offer preconfigured support under the SAML 2.0 standard. With the move, Google became an identity provider and a front-end to other applications and became of a competitor to services like Okta.

By adding more names to Google Identity, the search giant is hoping to become a more integrated security manager for cloud apps.

According to blog post, Google's identity features can be used with a bundle of security services such as enterprise mobility management.
