Google Talk headsets: Sign of a new version coming?

Ionut was browsing through the Google Store when he discovered a new product that caught his attention -- co-branded Google Talk headsets from Plantronics.  I will be picking up a 330 model because I am in desperate need of a headset, and I'm a sucker for anything with a Google logo on it.

I would love to try the USB version, but the price is way too steep -- searching on Froogle gives me a good indication I would be paying around $100 just for the Google Talk logo!

I am wondering if these new products might be the first sign of Google Talk 2.0 with the ability to make outgoing calls to regular phones?  It seems to me the description for the USB model could be interpreted as Google Talk will "replace your phone".

You’ve eliminated the phone — now remove the wires. The CS50-USB from Plantronics is the first wireless headset for VoIP applications with remote call detection and answer/end capability. Experience superior sound quality, stylish design, four comfortable wearing options and hands-free convenience via your USB port. With the Google Talk logo.  -- Google Store
