Heathrow's Terminal 5 has gone live with a Wi-Fi hotspot for its passengers.

The service is particularly aimed at business travellers, who can access the network using laptops, PDAs and mobiles. The network promises speeds of up to 8Mbps.

The hotspot will be supplied by T-Mobile and is the largest indoor network in the UK, covering an area the size of 50 football pitches.

Passengers can use the service at a cost of £5 per hour or £10 for 24 hours.

Alternatively, T-Mobile customers who are signed up to the operator's monthly broadband packages can use the service as part of their subscription.
