Phil Wolff, whose Skype Journal is the authoritative and objective authority on all matters Skype, writes that Skype experienced 500 million downloads yesterday.
"Skype users downloaded the world's leading VoIP program 500 million times today," he writes.
Maybe half of my brain is still at that rainy/windswept Pacific Ocean beach I spent much of President's Day Weekend at, but I am trying my darndest to get entirely comfortable with this documentation.
In the same post Phil notes the 500 million downloads, he offers that Skype has 171 million user accounts and that 3.5 to 9 million users are connected at any one time.
Phil knows lots more about the Skype site user traffic and the Skype user base than I do, but I am really trying to take these numbers and see what type of totally rad force multiplier would drive this level of membership and traffic up to 500 million in one day.
I think what Phil may have meant is that the cumulative amount of Skype downloads throughout the history of the program passed 500 million yesterday.
