HTC Dream Android device may be available on October 13th for $199

More details of the rumored HTC Dream Android device arrived today courtesy of TmoWorld and it looks like they have a good inside contact at T-Mobile. The previous 17 September pre-order date was confirmed as true when existing T-Mobile customers can order the device. However, the device will actually be available on 13 October. The price will also be US$199 with a 2-year contract, a specified data plan, and Gmail account.

There looks to be two data plans available, one for US$35/month that gives you unlimited data and text messaging and one for US$25/month that gives you unlimited data and 400 messages. I currently have a family plan with unlimited text messaging for all phones and pay just under US$20 for my data plan. I don't want to lose the grandfathered $10 unlimited family plan text messaging plan so I need to find out how the device can fit into an existing family plan before I place my pre-order next month.

TmoWorld also lists the basic features of the phone and it looks like GPS may not be included, unless it is implied as part of the Google Maps implementation. You may also be able to select a black, brown, or white device. The device will support the new T-Mobile 3G network and WiFi, along with having a touch screen, QWERTY keyboard, Google apps, YouTube, 3 megapixel camera (with no video recording capability), and more.
