HTC announced the Vive virtual reality headset will be available in early April for $799.

The company made the announcement and showed the final version of the headset at Mobile World Congress on Sunday. Pre-orders for the HTC Vive begin on February 29.

The HTC Vive will compete directly with Facebook's Oculus Rift priced at $599. However, the HTC Vive will ship with two wireless controllers that provide haptic feedback.

Furthermore, Engadget reports HTC has included a more ergonomic headstrap design that is more comfortable to wear than the version shown at CES in January.

HTC also announced a new feature called Vive Phone Services, which lets you send and receive calls, text messages and check on your calendar without taking off the VR headset.

The Vive ships with two games: Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives by Owlchemy Labs and Fantastic Contraption by Northway Games.
