IMSI to revamp TurboCAD in May

IMSI plans to release a new version of its best-selling TurboCAD package in May. At the same time as version 4.0 of the standard product which targets the SoHo sector, IMSI will introduce TurboCAD Professional 4.0 aimed at CAD professionals.

TurboCAD 4.0 includes over 50 usability improvements plus a customisable user interface, symbol browser, and raster-to-vector conversion utility for converting scanned images into editable drawings. The Professional version offers a software developer kit for third-parties to create thier own plug-ins.

The company claims to have sold close on a million copies of the budget CAD program to date and can count Xerox, Siemens, IBM, Honeywell and Texaco among its customers.
