InnoMedia was founded in 1995 by two pioneers in the multimedia and telecommunications industries. Co-founder/CEO, Kai-Wa Ng, formerly the co-founder and CTO of Creative Technology Ltd and Co-founder/President, Dr. Nan-Sheng Lin, formerly EVP of Engineering at Digicom Systems, Inc.

Their founding vision was to deliver INNOvative multiMEDIA. They believed in the convergence of voice and data and other media into a unified platform and network, and further believed Internet Protocol (IP) would be the prevalent technology to unify this media.

Their vision has been realized with InnoMedia's broad offering of products and technologies that harness the power of IP telephony through a combination of thin client technology, advanced, intelligent servers, and global termination services to enable our partners to build complete end-to-end solutions.

InnoMedia has taken a collaborative, client server approach to delivering cost-effective communication through the efficiencies of IP telephony, while leveraging its flexibility to create and deliver colorful and information rich communication. InnoMedia's client server architecture includes a suite of hardware- and software-based voice and video over IP thin clients, applications servers, call agents, and InnoSphere™, a quality managed global Voice-over-IP (VoIP) termination network. This unique approach is what makes it possible for InnoMedia and it's partners to deliver true end-to-end IP telephony solutions.

By using thin client server architecture, InnoMedia makes VoIP clients less complex, more affordable, and easier to deploy. InnoMedia ensures the highest level of quality through the use of sophisticated packet recovery algorithms, echo cancellation technology, and automatic adjustment of jitter buffers. All voice and video processing is offloaded from the network and resides in the clients, delivering a more scalable solution offering maximum sound quality and voice communication without garbled sounds, breaks, or echoes. By providing application servers, InnoMedia can simultaneously deliver relevant information (text, data, graphics, voice, video, web) to dramatically improve communication, human interaction efficiency and enhance the users experience.

InnoMedia's thin client technology can be packaged as a stand-alone appliance, PC-based device or as a component of InnoMedia's partners' products. These include DSL/cable modems, personal digital assistants (PDAs), mobile phones, wireless access devices, or gaming platforms such as the Sega Dreamcast gaming console. With hardware-based devices, InnoMedia's VoIP clients allow customers to use a familiar interface-the telephone-and any type of IP connection, from a simple dial-up service to a broadband access service delivered via DSL, cable or wireless modem, or a Local Area Network (LAN).
