Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC) and Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) are straying further apart in the emerging market for non-PC "appliances" that tap into the Internet. Intel is expected to announce Wednesday a brand of Web appliances that don't use its longtime partner's Windows operating software.
