Energy systems provider invests in Singapore office in anticipation of increased market opportunities in Asia.

SINGAPORE, 26 May 2000 - Invensys Energy Systems Asia announced today the opening of its Asian headquarters in Singapore.

The company, which has invested in infrastructure, inventory and manpower resources to expand its customer support and business infrastructure in Asia, is targeting the burgeoning info-communications market.

Douglas Milner, president of Invensys Energy Systems, said, "We have reaffirmed our commitment to our customers and today we are in the unique position of being able to offer our existing customers and partners a wide range of energy systems solutions which include a wide array of products and most importantly strategic power solutions and services as well."

Currently, the Asian operation has offices and systems integration facilities in Singapore, Malaysia and China.

Product specialties include advanced power solutions for broadband, wireless and fixed-line telephony and data networking applications.

The mandate for Invensys Energy Systems Asia is to further the market penetration and to continue to build on the significant investment that the company has made in its regional infrastructure.

An estimated investment of US$10 million in Asia on inventory, infrastructure, products, manpower and services, has been supported by the company.

Ng Kok Meng, managing director of Invensys Energy Systems Asia, said, "There are significant market opportunities in Asia and we will continue to invest to develop our capabilities and realise the potential of this region."
