65.150.168.223.

That was the IP address on a PC belonging to Lisa Montgomery, a Kansas resident accused of strangling mother-to-be Bobbie Jo Stinnett andforcibly removingthe babyStinnett was carrying in her womb.

As part of the murder investigation, police examined Stinnett's computer. Shortly before Stinnett was killed, she received an e-mail from Montgomery (using another name)requesting a meeting. Something about rat terrier puppies.

According to wire service reports, the e-mail was traced back toMontgomery's PC. She was arrested less than 24 hoursafter the crime allegedy took place.

Although IP Telephony was not involved in the investigation, IP-tracing was. We'll see more of this tech sleuthwork in the future.
