Once only compatible with the Android smartphone set, the wearable Looxcie LX1 has been optimized to work with the iPhone.

The Bluetooth-enabled, 1.0-ounce video cam fits around the ear and can record up to four hours of continuous video on after a full battery charge. Sporting an HVGA resolution camera, the LX1 has enough onboard storage space for up to four hours of footage as well.

The smartphone comes in as the viewfinder, and the handheld can be used to upload video clips to Facebook, YouTube and e-mail clients. Users will need to download the free app to make use of this feature. Otherwise, the MP4 files can be transferred to a PC or Mac via USB.

Note that LX1 is compatible only with the iPhone 3GS and 4 models, as well as smartphones running Android 2.0 or higher.

The Looxcie LX1 is available at Best Buy now for $199. This little guy qualifies for free shipping too.
