KUALA LUMPUR (Asia Pulse)--AIC Semiconductor Sdn Bhd (AICS) has agreed to form a strategic alliance with United States-based National Scientific Corporation (NSC) to develop and manufacture advanced power protection semiconductor devices and related technology.

AICS is involved in the design, procurement, assembly and test of IC chips and other ancillary activities.

NSC, which has its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, is a public company listed on the Over The Counter Board (OTC) in the USA. NSC develops significant enhancements for existing semiconductor, integrated circuits and other electronic component products, processes and markets utilising their patented technologies.

NSC, which has researched and developed several proprietary technologies, has provided the said enhancements to the marketplace through licensing agreements with leading manufacturing firms.

NSC and its partners will provide technical support and expertise to develop the technology, and AICS will provide approximately 6,000 sq ft of manufacturing space in Kulim.

The products that will be involved in the technology transfer are Thyristors and Schottky Diodes, AICS said in a press statement.

NSC will market the products in North America and elsewhere, whilst AIC Group will do the same for the products in Asia.
