I'm a little bit late with this but it's such a useful move by Microsoft, I figured I'd point it out for Zero Day readers.

Microsoft has been adding a nifty one-click "fix it" utility to its Knowledge Base (KB) articles to help end users solve Windows problems without having to navigate through the maze of instructions.

This idea is to automate the steps in Microsoft KB articles and Windows Error Reporting (WER) solutions so a Windows users can simply click a button and have the issue resolved.

From the Fixit4me blog:

  • Microsoft Fix it automates solutions to common software problems in an easy, intuitive way that is available when and where you need it. So whether you are looking for a solution in help or support content, or an error report, Fix it provides a way to apply automated fixes, workarounds, or configuration changes so you don’t have to perform a long list of manual steps yourself.

Hopefully, this becomes a standard in every KB article that outlines a fix to a problem.
