Mirapoint names new CEO

Mirapoint, a maker of "server appliances" dedicated to the task of handling corporate e-mail, announced Wednesday that Barry M. Ariko has taken over as chief executive. Ariko was CEO of Exricity, a business collaboration software company acquired by Peregrine Systems in 2001, and before that worked for Netscape Communications.

Ariko replaces Satish Ramachandran, Mirapoint's founder, who remains chairman of the company's board, a company representative said.
