MobileTechRoundup show #215; Droid X impressions from all

Verizon and Motorola will be launching the Droid X this week and all three co-hosts of the MoTR show have one in hand. Borders launched their ebook store, Fring launched their iPhone client with 3G video calling support, and Kevin asked about Android on Nokia devices instead of MeeGo.

The Google Android smartphone market is taking off and all three hosts of Mobile Tech Roundup now have the Motorola Droid X in hand with James receiving his while recording MobileTechRoundup show #215. We offer some first thoughts on the large 4.3 inch screen device with more coverage planned for next week. Kevin posted a question this week that caused quite a few people to chime in as he suggested Nokia drop MeeGo and adopt Android. Borders launched their ebook store this week and we now see a large drop in dedicated ebook readers. Fring is now available for the iPhone to stream via 3G, but users overloaded the servers and Skype functionality was broken.
