Motorola will run Iridium system -- for now

The Wall Street Journal reports that Motorola Inc. will operate the Iridium LLC mobile phone satellite system until the bankrupt company can complete a plan for deorbiting its satellites. Motorola (mot) created Iridum and is also an investor in the company. Continued service to Iridium will depend on whether outside gateway companies keep operating, the Wall Street Journal reported.
