Surging demand for enterprise business solutions from local SMEs led to aggressive channels program

Singapore, 26 January 2000 -- Navision Software, a leading enterprise business solutions provider for the SME market, today announced the appointment of several top tier partners in Singapore and Malaysia.

This is part of the company's strategy to better service existing customers in the region and in response to increasing demand for flexible, single-vendor solutions developed specifically to meet the unique needs of mid-sized companies.

The appointed partners - called Navision Solution Centers (NSCs) - include CyanSys, Diversitec Distributors, Multisoft, NaviLogic, Sabre Information Services, and Wave Technologies in Singapore; and Computer Landmark and Synergistic Innovations in Malaysia.

Business model
Operating under a 100 percent indirect sales model, these NSCs form part of Navision Software's worldwide network of independent partners, who are responsible for marketing, sales, implementation, customisation, and support of Navision Software products locally.

"Based on Navision Software's impressive track record of more than 34,000 implementations in Europe, North America and Australia, we are in a unique position to help Asian SMEs move up the value chain in this digital economy," said Henrik Jeberg, Managing Director for Navision Software Southeast Asia (SEA). "More than just a great product offering, Navision Software has an international network of NSCs to ensure a strong local presence and the ability to react rapidly and effectively to customer needs."

Explaining the rationale behind the company's 100 percent channel-focused strategy, Jeberg emphasized: "Unlike our competitors who depend on services to add to their revenues, Navision Software fully leverages the market expertise of our local NSCs to provide sales and customised support. As a result, the company can focus primarily on product development, image and brand name building, and most importantly, total channel support."

As part of its commitment to the NSCs, Navision Software provides partners with free access to productivity tools, training and product support, upgrade programs, and joint funds for marketing activities. There has been overwhelming response to the company's NSC strategy, with their global channels network growing from 630 in 1998 to more than 800 partners within a year.

Said Yeo Chak Khiam, Channel Manager, Navision Software SEA: "The NSCs in Singapore and Malaysia were selected based on their diverse and deep experience in successfully implementing business solutions to mid-market customers. These NSCs have undergone rigorous training and certification, so we are well underway to provide Asian-based companies with the highest levels of service and speed of implementation that has become the hallmark of Navision Software all over the world."

NSCs in S E Asia
For the Singapore market, Multisoft and Wave Technologies will provide SMEs with one-stop business solutions; NaviLogic and CyanSys will service customers who require high-end customizations, Diversitec Distributors will be focused on the low to mid-end market; and Sabre Information Services will target the mid- to high-end market segment.

In Malaysia, the low-to mid-end market segment in Johor will be served by Computer Landmark while Synergistic Innovations will cater to the upper end of the market in Kuala Lumpur.

Initially focusing on Singapore and Malaysia, Navision Software plans to expand to Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines soon. By year-end, the company expects the number of certified NSCs to increase to 20, and have at least 100 full-time Navision Software resources.
