Here are the key themes for Thursday, April 1, 2010:

With only a few days left until the release of the iPad, the frenzy is kicking into high gear with the first reviews starting to pop up. The usual suspects are there - the WSJ's Walt Mossberg, the NYT's David Pogue, USA Today's Ed Baig - and you can pretty much guess what they have to say. Matthew Miller likes Tim Gideon's PC Magazine review best. Expect more reviews from sites such as this one once we get our hot hands on one, too.

Can the Blackberry stand up to the iPhone and Android devices? Co-CEO Jim Balsillie seems to be pretty confident and is pointing to the second half of the year for some real growth of the Blackberry. In fact, during his fourth quarter earnings call, he suggested that new hardware to be revealed later this year is part of a strategic roadmap that will simply amaze us all. Questions remain - so we'll see.

Why doesn't IBM just buy Novell already? That's the question being raised by Christopher Dawson, a self-described Googley edu blogger who can see an open source showdown helping consumers, SMBs, enterprises, and educational institutions.

What would it take to get you to switch to Sprint? How about a full-fledged Money Back Guarantee? Sprint announces a new program that will allow consumers to truly try out the service.

Could Chinese hackers be up to their antics again? Following the fallout from a cyberattack against Google and others last year that originated in China, it appears that Yahoo accounts of foreign journalists based in China are being compromised.
