Ninemsn confirmed to ZDNet Australia that Richard McLaren has today been appointed to the CTO post after several months of searching, originally reported by Australian IT.

McLaren succeeds Richard Ang, who left to join Microsoft in 2006.

According to McLaren's LinkedIn profile, he previously held positions with Westpac and Macquarie Group.
