Ning swaps leaders as CEO Bianchini steps down

Ning CEO Gina Bianchini will step down to be replaced by Jason Rosenthal, chief operating officer. The news was detailed by Marc Andreessen, chairman of Ning, in a blog post.

Ning CEO Gina Bianchini will step down to be replaced by Jason Rosenthal, chief operating officer. The news was detailed by Marc Andreessen, chairman of Ning, in a blog post.

Bianchini will become an executive in residence at Andreessen Horowitz.

Andreessen said Ning's strategy remains the same---add users and allow them to create their communities. Ning adds 1 million users every 12 days.

Rosenthal is a Netscape alum and has known Andreessen for 15 years. Rosenthal was also with Andreessen at Loudcloud.
