Aiming to offer an insiders guide to every major city in the world, Wcities.com has announced the first stage in its attack on Europe. The European city rollout will start on 13 October and will include Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Munich, Rome and Milan. Major US cities are to follow shortly.

The company's planned global network of city guides was launched in the UK in March and so far covers London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast.

The company employs teams of writers and researchers "with a passion for their city" in each location. To ensure editorial integrity, there is no content from outside sources. Enrico Mauri, CEO of Wcities, said "We want our guides to be the one-stop reference point for both locals and visitor in each city."

Currently the guides provide restaurant guides, entertainment listings, news, airline and hotel bookings, and free email and personal Web pages.
