Larry Ellison was a few minutes late for his keynote speech Wednesday at Internet World. But the Oracle Corp. (orcl) CEO had a good excuse: He said he was meeting with President Clinton. Although Ellison did not elaborate on the reason for the meeting, he did say, "We should have amended the Constitution to elect Bill Clinton to a third term." On the one hand, Ellison said he "tries to stay out of politics." On the other hand, he claimed the technology revolution was one reason the United States had been able to pay down its national debt. In an aside, Ellison joked that Clinton was thinking of becoming a database administrator because the job pays more than the presidency. -- Mary Jo Foley, ZDNet News
