Oracle shows off new Exadata storage server

Summary:At Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison unveils a new storage server product, dubbed Exadata. The programmable storage server aims to put database intelligence next to each drive. The Exadata storage server will be immediately available on Linux running on Intel, but Ellison noted that other flavors for various platforms "are on the way."
