Palm picks up Apple vets

Palm Inc. on Tuesday announced four additions to its executive ranks, including two Apple veterans of the John Sculley, Michael Spindler and Gilbert Amelio regimes. Former Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing Satjiv Chahil has been named chief marketing officer of the Santa Clara, Calif.-based PDA maker, while Doug Solomon, former senior vice president of corporate development with Apple, has been brought aboard as chief strategy officer. In other hires, Palm named William Maggs (formerly of MCI WorldCom) chief technology officer and Barry Cottle -- former senior vice president of marketing of Disney TeleVentures -- chief operating officer. -- Matthew Rothenberg, ZDNet News
