O2 announces smartphone costs

O2, the exclusive carrier of the Palm Pre when it comes to the UK from 16 October, has announced pricing for the smartphone.

The WebOS Pre joins Apple's iPhone on the O2 network, and will cost the same in monthly charges as Apple's 3GS device.

The Pre will be available for £44.05 per month on a 24-month contract, or £73.41 per month on an 18-month contract, and includes unlimited data browsing on O2's HSDPA network and access to The Cloud and BT Openzone's 7,500 wi-fi hotspots.
