Panasonic is touting the H-FT012 as the "world's first interchangeable 3D lens," with dual optical systems creating stereo images that are processed with a 3D image processing system. Shooting 3D photos with this 12.5mm lens is instantaneous, and images can be displayed on the plethora of 3D-enabled screens on the market these days.
In the shadow of this 3D interchangeable lens are two other Micro Four Thirds, including the H-H014 (Lumix G 14mm/F2.5 ASPH), which has been dubbed as the "world's lightest interchangeable single focal length lens." (There sure are a lot of "world's first" announcements today.) Photographers interested in wide-angle shots, landscapes and indoor shooting should look here.
Finally, there's the H-FS100300 (Lumix G Vario 100-300mm/F4.0-5.6/MEGA O.I.S.) telephoto zoom lens with an integrated stepping motor, a zoom tracking control system and inner focus drive system. Promised to be quiet, this long-range lens is probably better for events where the volume might already be high (i.e. sporting events). Panasonic has also implemented its own MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer technology to reduce blur and the effects of camera shake.
Expected to roll out in November, the 3D H-FT012, H-H014 and H-FS100300 will retail for $249.95, $399.95 and $599.95 respectively.
