PC chip sales to grow 18% in 2004

Sales of PC chips are set to reach US$53.6 billion globally this year, up 18% - the highest projected annual growth rate between 2003 to 2008 - according to IDC Corp. Global PC semicon revenues will cross US$66 billion in 2008 from about US$45.4 billion last year, growing at a 7.8% annual clip during the period.
