PeopleSoft unveils HR software tools

Summary:Software maker PeopleSoft is trying to win more business customers by offering performance management tools and recruitment applications, and by touting a new partnership with business-to-business software maker VerticalNet. PeopleSoft announced collaborative business planning tools for budget planning, customer behavior analysis and workforce planning at its conference in Atlanta on Tuesday. The tools will be available in the fourth quarter. PeopleSoft also debuted and began shipping applications that allow those involved in the hiring process to collaborate through Web applications integrated with PeopleSoft 8 Human Resource Management business software. In addition, PeopleSoft customers will have access to supplier content and services available on the VerticalNet Enabled Supplier Network under a deal between the two companies announced Tuesday.
