Performance bug found in Rockwell 56K chipset
Motorola won't ship its first 56kbps modems in the UK until next week after discovering a problem with Rockwell Semiconducutor's K56flex chipset.
The firm had originally planned to ship new ModemSURFR and VoiceSURFR devices this week but postponed after finding a bug that could cause a performance hit under some network configurations.
Motorola is offering an exchange to US users who may have been affected but believes that the number is under 3,000.
