Singapore-based click and mortar service aims to move photographic imaging into the world of cyberspace to cater to the digital crowd

99Photo.com Pte Ltd made its debut into the cyberspace amidst the phenomenal growth in the digital camera and online photo-finishing industries. It recently established an alliance with E-Book Systems Inc., which allows members to organise photographic images onto virtual albums with realistic page-flipping using E-Book Systems' FlipAlbum and FlipBrowser software.

99Photo.com has also tied up with Malaysia's largest photography retail chain - QS Citifoto Sdn Bhd. 99Photo.com users in Malaysia can have their pictures sent to friends via the Internet and request prints from the comfort of their homes at one of the chain's 25 outlets.

"With the industry zooming ahead with the digital camera, it has resulted in a domino effect on the way the entire photo imaging industry is moving ... [99Photo.com] fills a major gap in the current digital space in the region and the trade enthusiasm to link up to leverage the region's 'print roaming' traffic. This is what you call a borderless market," said Loh Teck Heng, chief operating officer, 99Photo.com.

99Photo.com offers end-to-end services such as digital conversion services from prints/slides/negatives and new rolls of film at the point of processing and development over the counter. The Web site also provides a community for users to publish their work, which will create a market place for the opportunity to source and purchase of photo images.
