Qualcomm snaps up Now
Qualcomm Inc. today announced that it has acquired Now Software Inc.
Qualcomm Inc. today announced that it has acquired Now Software Inc. for an undisclosed sum.
San Diego-based wireless communications developer Qualcomm said it will incorporate Now's product line, which includes Now Up-to-Date, Now Contact and Now Utilities, into its Eudora Division. Qualcomm said it is committed to further development of the products, but it announced no specific plans.
"The acquisition of Now gives Qualcomm access to exciting new technologies and talented individuals," said Jeff Jacobs, vice president and general manager of the Eudora Division.
Qualcomm will keep the Portland, Ore., headquarters of Now open, and no layoffs are planned, Jacobs said.
