Researching spyware

I really like the Computer Associates Spyware Information Center. Not only does it host a searchable database of spyware, it also shows a list of newly discovered components. This is the same database that was hosted on the PestPatrol site, before Computer Associates bought it. There are other spyware guides around the Internet, but this one seems well-maintained, as Computer Associates uses it to build its spyware definition file. Also, a few posts ago I complained that Symantec hadn't jumped on the antispyware bandwagon. A reader commented that Symantec's Internet Security product does include spyware protection, but it's pretty limited. From what I've seen, it looks like Symantec focuses on serious spyware, but isn't that vigilant about adware.
