On Monday, Intel kicked off its Visual Computing Conference where it announced a 1Gb/sec mode for the Accelerated Graphics Port and rolled out a roadmap to make graphics speeds 10 times faster inside three years.

Tuesday, Microsoft said it expects to post a first public beta of Internet Explorer 4.0 on Monday and HP said it plans to release NetPCs in the summer.

Wednesday, EC constraints led to complaints as RAM prices rose sharply.

Today, Microsoft posted an e-mail virus alert program.
