Server shipments up 4.4%, revenues down 5.4% in Q3 2008
Server revenue declined 5.4% to $12.7 bln, even as Q3 2008 shipments rose 4.4% to 2.3 mln units, Gartner says. Shipments of RISC/Itanium Unix servers fell 16.1% in the quarter, and 10.8% in terms of revenue. Shipments of x86 servers rose 5.5%.
