Sony has definitely been busy lately, and now they're ready to debut the colorful 14-inch EA and 17.3-inch EC notebook computer collections.

There are a lot of specs to cover, so here's a rundown of what each Sony laptop series has to offer:
- 14-inch widescreen display (1,366 x 768 resolution)
- Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
- Up to 512MB dedicated video RAM
- Standard capacity battery
- Weight: 5.2 pounds
- Dimensions: 13.60- x 1.07- x 9.39-inches
- 17.3-inch widescreen display (1,600 x 900 resolution)
- Intel HM55 Express Chipset
- ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 or 5650 GPU
- Up to 1GB dedicated video RAM

- Weight: 7.3 pounds
- Dimensions: 16.1- x 1.25- x 10.78-inches
There are some options that are the same across the board, including:
- Intel Core i3 350M processor (or an upgrade to a Core i5 i5-540M CPU)

- Up to 500GB of hard drive space

Additionally, all E series laptops are available in five colors with a glossy finish (green, blue, white, pink and black) or three colors with a matte finish (brown, silver/white and black). Go nuts.
All of the new Sony laptops mentioned here are available for pre-order now with a July shipment planned (no exact date yet). Starting prices are $769.99 and $819.99 for the EA and EC series, respectively.
