Sonyhas announced its first desktop videoconferencing system, unveiled at the TMA conference in Brighton. The Trinicom 500 system costs just £1,500 and offers videoconferencing using standard PC technology and ISDN connectivity. The Trinicom 500 also offers high speed Internet access and the company claims five times normal ISDN access speeds.

The system can also be used as a PC Phone and users can place and receive regular phone calls using the devices.
